At Self & Story Collective each child’s voice is unique and is nurtured within a calm, joyful, and affirming space. Through storytelling, creative exploration, and community, young people are encouraged to see their ideas as powerful, their identities as strengths, and their stories as worthy of being told.

Self & Story Collective cultivates learning communities where creativity and belonging go hand in hand, differences are valued rather than accommodated as an afterthought, and students are encouraged to see their identities, experiences, and ways of thinking as strengths.

In these classrooms and communities, storytelling becomes a tool for self-discovery, connection, advocacy, empathy, and change—giving students opportunities to better understand themselves, appreciate the perspectives of others, and participate meaningfully in the world around them.
